ISUZU MOTORS LIMITED (JAPAN)
COMPANY PROFILE
Isuzu Motors (Japan) was founded in 1916 and became a 'Limited'
company in 1937. Isuzu Motors has the longest history of any
Japanese vehicle manufacturer and is one of the world's largest
producers of commercial vehicles spanning light, medium and heavy
weight classes.
The company is also the world's largest commercial diesel engine
manufacturer with its range of high quality diesel engines not only
being used in road transport applications, but also as stationary
power plants, for power generation and for marine propulsion
applications.
As an industry leader, Isuzu Motors takes its environmental
responsibilities seriously and while on a constant path of product
and operational improvement, every endeavour is made to minimise
its environmental impact.
Aside from its dedication to producing powerful yet fuel
efficient low emission diesel engined products, the company is also
heavily involved in the development and production of alternative
fuel technologies including Compressed Natural Gas and hybrid
diesel-electric vehicles.
Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has been a fully owned subsidiary
of Isuzu Motors Limited (Japan) since November 2005, when General
Motors' interest was retired in the predecessor joint venture
Australian operation, formerly known as Isuzu-General Motors
Limited.
Isuzu Motors Limited's dedication to research and development
and worldwide economies of scale coupled with its strong
relationship with IAL ensures many benefits for the brand's
Australian truck, marine and diesel engine customers.
