The Isuzu Giga range is well and truly a contender for the maximum GVM and GCM applications. Drive-train specifications start with Isuzu 15.7 litre turbo, inter-cooled engines, Roadranger and AMT transmissions, Meritor axles and 6 rod and Hendrickson HAS air-bag suspension.* *Components dependent on model
The 2011 Giga offers a host of active and passive safety features and devices, including a driver's air-bag, ABS, side intrusion bars, in-cab air-bag suspension control as well as 22-inch full electric and heated mirrors for optimum visibility.
Isuzu has more experience with low emission engines in the Australian market than any other brand. The new SiTEC Series III diesels are economical, lightweight and compact with better performance than ever before. The flagship Gigamax model boasts a new 15.7 litre engine with 510hp and more than 2,250Nm in torque. Naturally, all engines comply with 2011's ADR 80-03/EuroV standards.
The new Giga features heavy-duty 12- or 16-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) options that operate seamlessly, with advance shift solenoids and electronic controls for enhanced shift speed and smoothness.
The Giga features a top-of-the-line ISRI 6860 air-suspension seat. It's infinitely adjustable and absolutely comfortable. It has an integrated three-point seatbelt, adjustable vertical shock-absorber, integrated pneumatic system, integrated heat restraint, dual-stage air lumbar with lateral support, and body-contoured upholstery from head to knee.
The Giga has roomier, more comfortable interiors, providing a more inviting working environment. There's plenty of storage and bright interior lighting. You'll also find the cabs easy to get into as a result of wide doors opening to 90degrees and large grab-handles.
Simply reach out and navigate through the simple menu to play your favourite songs, or for even greater convenience, use voice commands. Hands free calling is standard via Bluetooth connectivity, plus, with the purchase of optional accessories, GPS satellite navigation and four multi-view safety cameras can also be installed.
As a professional driver, you need your wits about you. And your eyes. That's where the option of having 360˚ vision* comes in very handy. Operating through the touchscreen audio-visual system, you can have cameras in four different positions, say front, sides and rear, all displaying at the same time, even with audio. * Camera system is an optional item available at additional cost.
The Isuzu Giga Series has been steadily gaining ground in the heavy-duty market. But the highlight is the new 26 metre B-double compliant model, rated at 70 tonnes GCM with more than enough power, torque and specifications to satisfy the astute line-haul operator. Isuzu has also cracked the 500hp barrier with the new 510hp Gigamax model.
